How the breakdown of rotational symmetry affects the aberration of a lens with an axial refractive-index distribution

This paper presents formulas for calculating the second-order aberrations of a planoconvex lens with an axial refractive-index distribution when the equirefractive planes are not perpendicular to the symmetry axis of the lens.
