The possibility of detecting blood vessels located in brain tissues from images in the visible and near infrared ranges was studied. The preliminary results obtained in the experiment confirmed the prospects of using plane-polarized incoherent radiation with a central wavelength in the range from 730 to 900 nm in further studies for creating a system for automatic detection of blood vessels and cranial nerves from endoscopic images.
