An interdisciplinary research is devoted to the analysis of materials, painting technique, under-drawings, and problems of conservation of medieval book illumination, archives, and graphics. New developments in reflectography allows one to make palimpsests, erased and faded script as well as unSerdrawings in book painting visible. These methods use the whole spectrum, from UV through far-IR, in combination with band-pass filters, electronic image processing, and different lighting effects.
