Studies on chlorophyllase ofChlorella protothecoidesII. Formation of atypical chlorophyllidea

When chlorophyllawas incubated with a preparation of chlorophyllase extracted with Triton X-100 from methanol-acetone powder ofChlorella protothecoides, the substrate was changed to chlorophyllidea, and subsequently to an atypical form of chlorophyllidea. The formation of an atypical form of chlorophyllide was not detected in the reaction with chlorophyllbas substrate, nor in the reaction with another preparation of chlorophyllase extracted from the algal cells.
