Russia is taking steps to establish its own price indexes for crude oil and petrochemical products as foreign pricing agencies like Platts wind down their operations in the country following its invasion of Ukraine. Since the war started, Russia's key Urals export blend has traded at huge discounts to dated Brent, with the differential reaching a high of around $40/bbl shortly after the war started and hovering closer to $20/bbl currently.
