After the failed attempt by the mills to increase prices, Brazilian longs prices fell for the second consecutive month in December. The m/m drop was 5% again, following the average of what had been happening this whole year. Despite the seasonally weaker period due to summer vacations and scheduled maintenance, low demand by end-users continues to be the main reason for the drop in prices in the country.
