Communication issues, such as calling someone by an incorrect name, sending a message to the wrong person, or being distracted by a device, which can lead to missing critical information in a conversation, can occur often in the workplace. Although these issues can happen to anyone, they can be disadvantageous to recent radiologic technology graduates working in their first career position. Radiologic technology programs focus on attaining new skills and knowledge, as well as developing an identity as a medical professional.2 Developing professionalism should begin in the classroom to provide students the opportunity to learn crucial lessons in a low-stress environment before transitioning to a career.
