Crude futures were little changed Friday, as continued increases in US drilling activity and profit-taking by traders following a midweek rally kept a lid on prices. NYMEX June crude settled 1 cent higher at $47.84/b. ICE July Brent settled up 7 cents at $50.84/b. The number of rigs drilling for oil in the US rose by nine to 712 Friday, the highest level since April 2015, Baker Hughes said. The rig count has increased by 187 so far this year and by 394 since this time last year.
