Anew Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE~(~R)) standard for testing the voltage endurance of hydrogenerator stator coils and bars will help hydro project owners ensure a long service life for their generating equipment. The standard specifies the method to use for voltage endurance testing, the conditions under which the testing should be done, and pass/fail criteria.
