Techtextil 2005 once again proved to be a top, international innovations show in textiles for use as functional materials. The full extent of the product developers' creativity was on show, especially in the warp-knitted technical textiles - existing structures have been optimised, technologies have been perfected, and completely new applications have been opened up. An important trend is that the "sky is the limit" as far as the materials are concerned. Spacer textiles are being used in mattresses and seats, either on their own or laminated with other materials; they may be thick or thin but in every case, they are highly functional.
