SIX UK companies have set up an academy to encourage students to study within the field of electrical energy engineering. The E3 Academy will offer participating students the opportunity of an intensive support programme throughout their studies. GE Aviation, Converteam, Siemens, Cummins Generator Technologies, Control Techniques and Parker SSD are all backing the initiative, which is endorsed by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. It aims to address the skills shortage in industrial automation, following a similar model to the Power Academy for power engineering.
