The information systems (IS) literature, and the industry sectorsconfronted with information technology (IT) outsourcing, arebeginning to perceive IT outsourcing as more than just a necessaryorganizational resource-acquisition venture. Instead organizationshave begun to consider vendors as their partners, caus- ing manycompanies to enter into more intricate deals that include bothcontractual and informal issues. In light of these developments, agrowing concern with forming closer client-vendor relationships hasEvolved for both vendors and clients.
