The activities of five enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism were determined by fluorometric micromethods in epidermal tumors (basal and squamous cell epithelioma, keratoacanthoma, verruca seborreica) and compared to the activities in the adjoining, apparently normal epidermis. Glutamic pyruvate transaminase activity was reduced in all cases: that of the other enzymes was generally increased, except for isocitrate dehydrogenase and glutamic‐aspartate transaminase in squamous cell epithelioma
