Environmentally friendly polyurethane coatings for automotive plastic coating applications

Nowadays plastics are key materials for a modern car and most plastic components are coated due to protection against weathering, scratching, acid rain as well as decorative purposes, especially for the addition of a warm touch and luxury to pale plastics. Solventborne 2 component (2C) polyurethane coatings have been dominantly applied for automotive plastics, due to their high performances. To comply with legislation for a reduction of VOC emissions is now the main driving force for the development of environmentally friendly coatings.
