It is associated with subsidence on surface. Subsidence results in vertical and horizontal displacements and horizontal strains. Subsidence over the longwall mine in Southern India was predicted with the help of three dimensional models generated by using ANSYS software. The results obtained from numerical model are compared to field data and validated.
