On October 23, 2022, Korean Air Flight 631 (KE631) from Incheon International Airport to Mactan-Cebu International Airport in the Philippines ended in a 300m overrun of the latter's Runway 22. The weather was poor and the aircraft may have suffered damage on the second of three landing attempts that day, but whatever the conclusion of the accident investigation, the event was among the 20% or so of annual incidents that result from commercial aircraft failing to stop on their chosen runway.
