Australia's Woodside Energy is facing cost increases and further delays at the Sangomar oil project off the coast of the West Africannation of Senegal. In an update released on Tuesday, Woodside said the estimated cost of the project has risen to between $4.9 billion and $5.2 billion-some 7% to 13% higher than the previous estimate. Woodside has also pushed back the target date for the start of oil production from the fi rst phase of development to mid-2024. First oilhad originally been slated for this year.
