Counter-seasonal US gasoline inventory builds resumed in the week ended July 29, US Energy Information Administration data showed Aug. 3, as demand held well below seasonal norms. Nationwide gasoline stockpiles climbed 160,000 barrels to 225.29 million barrels, the EIA said. The build was concentrated on the US Gulf Coast, where stocks climbed 1.4 million barrels to 88.16 million barrels, a 14-week high and nearly 6% above the five-year average for this time of year.
