In response to the article by Anupam Jena and Dana Goldman (Jun 2011), we note that the relationship between prescription drug abuse and Internet sales needs to be better understood. Although websites offer schedule 2 drugs for purchase, there is little evidence of purchasers' actually receiving the drugs.1 One study—which did not include prescription stimulants-found narcotics difficult to purchase online. Internet sites advertising schedule 2 drugs often substitute a less potent alternative for what they claim to be selling.
