Optoelectronic phase chaos generator for secure communication

摘要

An optoelectronic chaos phase generator is reported, which involves conventional integrated optics and optical telecommunication components. Fast chaotic behavior of the optical phase with a constant optical power is experimentally demonstrated over multi-GHz bandwidth. Application to secure optical communications using chaos is discussed, as well as generation of high-purity rf oscillations, depending on the parameter settings. (c) 2005 Optical Society of America.
