摘要

In a U.S. study, two thtrds of men who have sex with men who were in care for HIV reported condomless anal intercourse in the past year, but testing for STIs was lacking. Over the past decade, there has been an increase in reported rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among men who have sex with men (MSM), including those living with HIV. Using the CDC-funded Medical Monitoring Project, investigators sought'to determine the prevalence of sexual risk behaviors and receipt of recommended prevention services, including annual STI testing, among MSM in care for HIV in the U.S. During 2017 and 2018, interviews were conducted with 1323 men who reported anal intercourse with other men in the last 12 months (about two thirds who reported having condomless intercourse); records on 1269 were available for analysis. Two thirds received care in Ryan White-funded clinics. There were no differences in reported risk behaviors by Ryan White-funding status, but a higher percentage of clients in Ryan White-funded clinics received prevention services, including free condoms and STI screening. However, testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia at any anatomic site was below 50% regardless of clinic type, as was testing for hepatitis C; only testing for syphilis was consistently over 50%.
