Discusses the work necessary to test and support a limited authentication proxy server used to provide remote access to library databases and journals on the Web. The authors have been using Innovative Interfaces, Inc.'s Web Access Management module to provide access to several hundred databases and over 1,000 electronic journals. Successful strategies include a redesigned Website and automatic Web browser configuration utility which significantly reduced access support requests while database access via the proxy server increased dramatically. After testing and using the authentication proxy server for two years, the service is considered successful.
