Functionally Substituted Alkoxides of Metals and Metalloids I. 2-Mercaptoethoxyboranes

Tris(2-meroaptoethoxy)borane and 2-(2-mercaptoethoxy)-1,3,2-benzodioxaborole, -borolanes and -borinanes have been synthesized by various routes. These have been converted into their corresponding S-triorganostanna derivatives. Bis(1,-3,2-dioxaborolane and -borinane-2-oxy)dibutyltin derivatives have also been obtained. Molecular weight and infrared and p.m.r. spectral studies of these compounds are also being reported.
