Effect of NH{sub}3, gas on the electrical conductivity of polyaniline-insulating polymer blend films was investigated for the purpose of preparing a practical NH{sub}3, gas sensor. The sensing characteristics depended on the kind of insulating polymers and dopant species, the solvent used for film preparation, measuring temperature, and heat-treatment temperature. Among the sensors prepared in this study, the polyaniline and rudder-type polysiloxane blend film treated at 120℃ showed the fast response time, large sensitivity, and good reversibility.
