Dear Editor:I just read the Personal Reflection discussing medical oncologists and tumor board.1 Why would such a vitriolic diatribe filled with misinformation be accepted for publication? The tumor board that I attend bears no resemblance to the one described. Those with master's of social work degrees, on the contrary, are welcome to bring up social issues and are part of the multidisciplinary team. It is not the same as our hospice's interdisciplinary team, but it is getting close. Most oncologists would take exception to the ridiculous characterization of members of their specialty. The patient is paramount and all planning takes into account patient and family. What are your thoughts?
