ALTERNATE SYNTHESES OF PRODAN AND ACRYLODAN

摘要

Prodan 6-propionyl-2-(dimethylamino)naphthalene,6 was synthesized by Weber and Farris in 1979 as a fluorescent probe of micropolarity.The prodan moiety was attached to thiols and amines in proteins using acrylodan 6-acryloyl-2-(dimethylamino)naphthalene,12.The covalently bound chromophore is a fluorescent molecular sensor of the labeled sites.
