Non-tuberculous acute salpingitis (AS) is a serious disease affecting young women in the early years of their fertile life and carrying a high risk of infertility. It has been shown that inadequate antibiotic treatment of AS may lead to recurrence, and it is therefore important that therapeutic concentrations be achieved with the antibiotics used.
