摘要

Non-motor symptoms represent a unique challenge when caring for patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Mood disorders, especially anxiety and depression, are among the most common non-motor symptoms and often remain underrecognized and undertreated. With increasing recognition of their debilitating nature and significant impact on quality of life in PD, the importance of early detection and treatment of anxiety and depression in PD has been emphasized. Although progress has been made in in understanding the pathogenesis of mood disorders in PD, there is a paucity of randomized, controlled treatment studies in this population. This review summarizes the current approach to evaluation as welt as pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatment for mood disorders in PD, with an emphasis on depression and anxiety.
