After visiting most of the fossicking sites in North Queensland in recent years, we decided this year's annual fossicking fix would be Harts Range, NT. We researched potential fossicking sites, talked to those who had fossicked in the area before, checked the weather forecast, and gathered all the 'X marks the spot' secret maps. We were sure we were well prepared for any eventuality that might befall us as newbies to the field, and set off with much enthusiasm.
