AUSTRALIAN RESEARCHERS have recreated the biological structures used by plants to capture energy - and they believe they can use their achievement to build solar panels that are twice as efficient as existing designs. The team at the University of Sydney has recreated the arrays of molecules that play a key part in photosynthesis, the process through which plants and bacteria collect energy from light and use it to convert carbon dioxide into sugars and oxygen.
