New York—US land oil rigs rose last week, climbing 6 to 703, continuing a trend that began a year ago as producers take advantage of solid returns in major US shale plays, Baker Hughes data showed Friday. The resiliency of US shale oil production was also born out in many quarterly earnings calls, where company’s touted a return to growth following the industry’s two year downturn.
