The article deals with experimental studies on the wear of flat acceleration elements and shock elements (bumpers) in the developed shredder. Mathematical models of wear of the plane radial dispersal elements of the shredder of centrifugal action made of widespread grades of steels of different hardness are received: St. 3, steel 40X, steel 45, steel 65G. The greatest impact is the rotor speed, smaller-the diameter of the initial particles and the performance of the shredder. The mathematical model of the percussion elements was developed. Analysis of the obtained mathematical model and surface response allows making a conclusion about significant influence of all investigated factors on the wear of the impact elements, in particular the rotor speed and angle of attack of the particles of source material on the impactor. Thus, as a result of experimental studies, mathematical models of the process of wear of the surfaces of the acceleration and impact elements of the centrifugal chopper are obtained depending on the studied factors, which allow calculating the life of their work. Installation of the required number of replaceable acceleration and impact elements allows to increase their working life and the overhaul period of the shredder by 1,5-2 times.
