An historic milestone will be reached soon by ILSA Brasil, an associate of the CICB. In May, the company will hit 300 thousand tonnes of leather residue transformed into fertilisers since the beginning of its operation in Brazil, in 2009. This is a technology that makes it possible to eliminate the environmental liability of the material, turning it into a new product which is extremely important for the environment, food production, and society. That number shows the growth trajectory of the tanning sector and its customers regarding sustainability and the development of a circular economy, having as a partner an organisation that offers viable and positive solutions to the planet.
