A 44-year-old male patient presented to the emergency department with a history of two episodes of acute tonic colonic convulsions, with aura symptoms lasting about 30 minutes. He gave no history of head trauma or epilepsy and was complaining of tingling and numbness in both hands for a long period of time. This left him unable to handle anything in either hand by the end of the day. His body temperature was 36.8 degrees centigrade; blood pressure 115/ 70mmHg; pulse rate 67/minute; respiratory rate 16/minute and oxygen saturation 98% on room air. The patient had been diagnosed with vitamin-D deficiency rickets in childhood and had been taking cholecalciferol 200.000 International Units (I.U.) eveiy 3 months ever since.
