High Park (VC 23,SP42 and SP43), in the Blenheim Palace estate at Woodstock in Oxfordshire, is a predominantly wood-pasture habitat extending to about 129 hectares, characterised by its globally significant concentration of ancient and veteran oak trees Quercus robur. Farjon (2017) recorded over 100 oaks with a girth at 1.3 m ≥ 6 m, by inference therefore positioning High Park as an important location for saproxylic invertebrates. Other veteran tree species also occur, notably beech Fagus sylvatica, and occasional field maple Acer campestre, silver birch Betula pendula and lime Tilia.
