The 2022 GP: A Vision for General Practice1 (RCGP, 2013a) is not something you will hear about via your optician. It is the RCGP's vision of the future addressing the challenges and changes that need to be made to the way we deliver healthcare under growing social and economic pressures. It is inspirational as well as aspirational, and describes the College's aims for the next 10 years.We are entering an exciting time in general practice. Many of us may not think much further than Certificates of Completion of Training, but it is important to consider what lies ahead. This article aims to give you an outline of the '2022 Vision' and how it has moulded the goals of the AiT committee.
