Management of Acute Respiratory Failure in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

This paper not only refers to the poor long-term prognosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, but also to the difficulties encountered in management. Newer technologic methods permit better evaluation of the pathophysiology encountered and a more successful administration of controlled oxygen.
