IMSA Traffic Signal Level Ⅲ Meeting

While we were at Arlington, certain philosophies were discussed by the certification committee and other interested persons. These philosophies were restated here in Jupiter to give us a framework while we worked. They are being considered (in general) for all future IMSA courses and certification programs regardless of the content of the course or certification program. 1. The "book" or "printed material" developed for a course or certification program does not have to duplicate the visual material. In fact, there is merit to have it completely different than the printed material. The merit of this is to "add value" to the program to encourage attendance at the IMSA event. However, the exams should be taken from the printed material to allow individuals a reasonable opportunity to pass a "challenged" exam. 2. If necessary, it is permissible to develop additional levels beyond the existing Level Ⅲ of expertise for any IMSA Certification Program. This will allow those individuals possessing the existing Level Ⅲcertifications to progress upwards. This was discussed during informal sessions after the meetings in Arlington. 3. All courses or certification programs shall follow the instructions detailed in the "template" approved by the Certification Committee regarding design, content and methodology. The purpose of this is to add uniformity to all material developed by the IMSA, eliminate confusion from the developers of the courses and certification programs, add a professional "look and feel" to all IMSA material and give positive guidance to all contemplating becoming an IMSA content provider.
