Richard Tuttle: What Is the Object? at the Bard Graduate Centre brings together the meaning of objects through the eyes of contemporary American artist Richard Tuttle. The show invites visitors to view and handle 75 items drawn from Tuttle's own collection, creating a multi-sensory engagement with the objects. Uniquely, each object is accompanied by an index card created by the artist, outlining his original encounter with it, how it entered his collection, and his thoughts about it. A series of nine never-before-seen works by Tuttle are also featured along with sculptural furniture he designed to display his objects.
