Two years ago we wrote a challenge to our readers to accelerate the inclusion of telemedicine into the curriculum of U.S. medical schools. At that time it seemed probable that a student well trained in information management might not need specific training in telemedicine. With the rapid expansion of telemedicine practice, that may not be true any longer. Telemedicine clinics are proliferating, and hospitals are relying increasingly on external virtual consultants as members of the medical team. We are not preparing our students for this practice, and it is overwhelming us. Here we go again!
