Corteva Agriscience has filed a lawsuit against US seed technology company Inari (Cambridge, Massachusetts) and its Belgian business, Inari Agriculture, for breach of its intellectual property rights. The writ has been filed in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. Chief technology and digital officer at Corteva, Sam Eathington, accuses Inari of theft of proprietary technology. The lawsuit alleges that Inari used a third-party agent to obtain protected Corteva “biotech” seeds, “illegally” exported the seeds out of the US, “made slight” genetic modifications of the traits and is seeking US patents for those modified traits.
