In fiscal 2021,the number of FRP composite cylinders that were shipped(inspected)rose by 27.4% year on year to 87,319.(This does not include cylinders for LP gas,CNG vehicles,Japanese compressed hydrogen vehicle fuel devices,and GTR-compliant compressed hydrogen containers for automobile fuel systems.)Oxygen cylinders,which normally represent 70% to 80% of annual demand(83.8% for the 2021 fiscal year),rose 39.6%.It is thought that the majority of cylinders for oxygen were portable containers for home oxygen therapy with a capacity of from 1 to less than 5 ￡,and these increased 41.0% from the previous year.In addition to new purchases from home oxygen therapy companies,the need to shift patients from hospitals to home oxygen from last year due to the Covid-19 increased demand.
