AbstractAn allotypic specificity, Ma(1) (Ma as an abbreviation ofMacaca), of rhesus monkey IgG is described; it was identified by an alloantiserum, anti‐Ma(1). Ma(1) is located on Fc fragments of IgG molecules.Family studies showed that the allotype Ma(1) is inherited; it occurs in 25 percent of the rhesus monkeys from a random population.Immunization with slightly polymerized IgG proved to be a suitable way to raise anti‐allotype antis
