The fact that dozens of news stories about bees and pesticides appeared on the internet over the course of 2021 isn't in and of itself entirely surprising, given the mountains of evidence in the scientific literature that many insecticides are toxic to honey bees. What might be surprising, though, is that a substantial percentage of these stories were focused not on new research findings about pesticide modes of action or impacts of pesticides on honey bee behavior and physiology, but rather on lawsuits and court decisions dealing with honey bees and pesticide regulations.
