Recently, Spark Plasma Sintering process (SPS) has attracted the attention in the field of sintering in powder metallurgy. A powder is packed into a die and is heated up by electric current under pressure. This method can sinter a material which is difficult to sinter with conventional method. This method provides good efficiency of the product and easy operation. We have developed a 500t press sintering machine and a rotary sintering machine with the aim of expanding this method from research level to product machine level. In order to make good quality products, it is desirable to sinter the powder under uniform temperature and uniform stress. We have developed a software to analyse the temperature and stress in the material under SPS process for the purpose of obtaining preferable sintering conditions. This report shows that the developed software is useful to design dies for uniform temperature sintering.
