Oil futures lacked direction Oct. 12, as the market looked toward US inventory numbers for next direction. NYMEX November WTI settled up 12 cents at $80.64/b while ICE December Brent declined 23 cents to $83.42/b. Crude prices traded on either side of even throughout most of the US session as the market awaited fresh pricing cues from US inventory reports due later Oct. 12 and Oct. 13.
