The US’ number of drilled but uncompleted wells rose for a second consecutive month in December, more than doubling that of November, as domestic unconventional oil and gas production appears poised to rise overall for February on the month, according to US Energy Information Administration data and projections released Jan. 17. Drilled but uncompleted wells, or DUCs as they’re commonly called, rose by 40 in December to 4,577 – more than the 16-DUC increase in November, the agency said in its latest Drilling Productivity Report.
