UK-based oil-oeld services provider Wood Group said Wednesday that it is selling its "Built Environment" consulting business to Montreal-based WSP Global for ff1.9 billion. Wood said the deal will enable it to pay down some or all of its ff1.4 billion in net debt and refocus on its core energy sector businesses, while it gives WSP a larger presence in North America and the UK. The deal is expected to be completed in the second half of the year. Wood began shopping its Built Environment business, which offers consulting services on environmental and climate issues, in November. It generated pretax proots of about ff112 million in 2021, according to Wood.
