摘要

THIS ISSUE OF WATER RESOURCES IMPACT IS QUITE different from all others I've known. Instead of selecting a specific water theme and then soliciting authors to write on that theme, I made the authors themselves the theme: students and young professionals (under 35). I solicited authors who fit that theme and asked them to write an article on a water topic of their choice. I wanted to hear what this group had to say on water topics important to them. They obviously do not speak with one voice— except the one who says, “Listen to what we have to say and don't marginalize or patronize us.” You will feel better about our planet's water future after sampling what these 11 folks have to say and learning what they have already done. Many thanks to managing editor Heidi Fritschel, assistant managing editor Zeke Goggin, and AWRA past president Lisa Beutler for their assistance.
