摘要

The absorption spectrum of cyclopropane has been investigated under high resolution (21‐ft. grating) in the photographic infra‐red and under low resolution (with a photoelectric infra‐red spectrometer) in the region 1.2 to 2.3&mgr; with absorbing paths up to 1760 meters. A large number of overtone and combination bands, about 150, have been found. Provisional vibrational assignments of nearly all the strong bands from 2.3 to 1.3&mgr; are given. For the weaker bands no unique assignments are possible.The parallel band at 10970A has been resolved and its rotational structure has been analyzed. The moment of inertia in the lower state is found to have the valueIB=42.15×10−40g cm2.
